Dear Supporter,

Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about my plans to work with you and your child to make sure that we close the achievement gap. "Transforming education to REACH our kids so that we can TEACH our kids" came out of my frustrations while helping my own children through the public school system. Public schools work, but their success depends on how much parents, students, teachers and administrators are willing to invest in them.

While steering our three sons through their educational experiences, my husband and I discovered that one size does not fit all. That discovery required us to figure out what worked for each son individually. We had to reach each son so that we could teach each son. Our youngest son will graduate this year and we thought that other parents could  benefit from the knowledge that we acquired - so this campaign was launched.

It is true that life is a journey and we have indeed had a journey through the Leon County School System. Our oldest son, Kahari, age 30, started third grade at Apalachee Elementary in 1987. We have made several stops along the way as demonstrated below:

As parents, at each of these stops we were involved in volunteering and supporting activities at each school. We served on School Advisory Councils, Parent Teacher Student Organizations, Parent Teacher Associations, and Athletic Booster groups.  The time has now come to take these experiences to the next level while continuing to give support to our local educational system.

I, Dianne Williams-Cox, ask for your help in continued service as Board member, District 2. Please join my efforts to enhance the educational opportunities for the current and future students, parents, teachers and administrators of our school system.
